I am embarking on a little journey to run 86kms in March to raise funds for Children's Cancer. A little about Children's Cancer Institute:
The Children's Cancer Institute core belief is that all children should have the chance to grow up, experience life, chase their dreams and reach their potential.
Unfortunately cancer cuts many little ones lives short every year, before they have had the chance to make their mark on the world. In Australia 86 kids are diagnosed with cancer each month.
Today, thanks to medical research, 80% of children that are diagnosed, do survive, although unfortunately this does mean that 12 children pass away each month, and the little ones that do survive, in most cases have to live with a multitude of long term health consequences due to the treatment.
Before March has even begun, almost $1,000,000 has been raised for this charity.
My Why:
By walking or running the 86km over the month of March, I get to support these children effected by cancer, as well as the family members in my life that have passed from / that are currently living with cancer.
